Dorado Dead Fish are floating wobblers designed to imitate an injured, weakened or dying baitfish. Instead of a regular, uniform action, they offer an erratic movement that, when worked correctly, can resemble easy prey struggling to maintain balance in the water.
The best results are achieved with a very slow retrieve combined with rod-tip movements. Gentle twitches can make the lure glide to the sides, rise towards the surface and dive again, creating a much less predictable action than that of a conventional wobbler.
The series was developed mainly for pike and shallow-water fishing. It performs particularly well in ponds, oxbow lakes, gravel pits and other stillwaters where the lure can be worked slowly above vegetation or close to likely predator holding areas.
Dead Fish can also be effective in rivers. The smaller 6 cm model is used for trout in fast current, where it can be cast across the river and allowed to drift in a controlled way on a tight line. The current itself gives the lure its irregular movement.
