Geecrack Tairaba Super Curly is a saltwater soft lure designed as an addition to tai-raba rigs. Its body is covered with fine ring-shaped ribs that catch the water effectively, while the relatively meaty curly tail produces a pronounced action.
The curly tail responds to even slight water movement and remains active when the rig is retrieved very slowly or briefly paused. This allows the lure to create movement without aggressive rod action, which can be useful when fish are less active.
Tairaba Super Curly is made from Geecrack's S.A.F. material containing salt, amino acids and flavour. This saltwater version uses an increased amino acid content together with shrimp and garlic flavour.
The lure can be mounted directly onto the hook of a tai-raba rig. Its meaty tail produces stronger vibrations and works under even slight water pressure, adding extra movement and attraction to the complete rig.
The 3-inch version is supplied in packs of 7. Tairaba Super Curly combines an active curly tail, a water-catching ribbed body and scented S.A.F. material in a soft lure developed specifically for saltwater tai-raba fishing.
Geecrack is a Japanese fishing brand based in Gifu, specialising in the design and development of fishing lures and tackle. Soft lures form an important part of the range, with distinctive body shapes, pronounced ribbing and actions designed for both conventional retrieves and modern finesse techniques.
One of Geecrack's most recognisable features is its original S.A.F. material. The name stands for Salt, Amino Acid and Flavor, combining salt, amino acids and scent. This material is used across many of the brand's soft lure ranges and adds an extra taste and scent stimulus to the lure's physical action.
Among the most distinctive models are the heavily ribbed Bellows Gill and Bellows Stick, shad-style lures such as Gyro Star, Iron Shad, Jack Master and Revival Shad, as well as smaller finesse lures including Portio Shad, Portio Curly, Moon Curly and Dumbbell Worm. Each design differs in body profile, tail action and behaviour on the fall, allowing anglers to match the lure to a particular presentation.
Depending on the model, Geecrack soft lures can be fished on jig heads or rigs such as drop shot, Texas Rig, Free Rig, Carolina Rig and Neko Rig. The range includes both compact lures for subtle presentations and larger, bulkier designs suited to stronger actions or use as jig trailers.
Geecrack also develops lures for saltwater fishing. Ranges such as PIKUPIKU Pintail and Tairaba Super Curly use designs suited to light saltwater techniques and tai-raba fishing while retaining the brand's characteristic approach to soft-lure action and scented materials.
The wide choice of shapes, sizes and actions makes Geecrack lures suitable for many spinning and casting techniques, from slow fishing on light rigs and controlled fall presentations to bottom fishing and use as trailers on different types of jigs.
