Guideline Compline II is a flat monofilament shooting line designed for use with shooting heads. It can be used with both single-hand and double-hand fly rods.
Compared with the previous Compline, it has a slightly lower diameter on the thinner side and a more rectangular profile. It has a similar amount of stretch but feels slightly softer in use, which makes it easier to stretch and helps remove dents caused by tangling.
The thin and very smooth monofilament surface reduces friction in the rod guides. The line stays straight in colder weather and is easy to stretch. Its flatter and wider profile creates slightly more resistance during casting than the previous Compline, although the manufacturer describes the difference in casting distance as marginal.
The 42 lb version works well with #8/9 rods and can also be used with #7/8 outfits. The 25 lb version is suited to single-hand rods and light ULS fishing. Both available versions are 50 m long.
