Lucky John 3D Makora Split Tail – 101 mm fork-tail soft lure

Realistic fork-tail soft bait for zander and pike

Lucky John 3D Makora Split Tail is a 101 mm (4 in) fork-tail soft lure with a slender baitfish profile. Instead of relying on a paddle tail, it is brought to life by rod movements, changes in line tension and the natural action of the body during the fall. When worked with short lifts or twitches, Makora Split Tail darts irregularly and glides on the drop, imitating a weakened or escaping baitfish. The forked tail responds to even small movements of the rod tip, allowing the lure to be presented either aggressively or with very subtle action. Realistic 3D detailing, a carefully shaped body and holographic flash improve visibility as the lure changes direction. The flashes produced during the retrieve can imitate light reflecting from the scales of a small fish. Makora Split Tail can be mounted on a jig head and worked close to the bottom with short lifts followed by controlled drops. This presentation is well suited to channels, drop-offs, underwater humps and other areas regularly occupied by zander. The lure can also be used on a drop shot rig when a slower and more precise pre...

Soft Baits 3D Makora Split Tail

The lure can also be used on a drop shot rig when a slower and more precise presentation is required. Small rod movements are enough to animate the body and forked tail without moving the rig far from the selected spot.

Its 101 mm (4 in) length creates a clear but still versatile baitfish profile. This size is particularly suitable for zander and pike, while larger perch may also respond where the natural forage is of a similar size.

The soft material is scented, adding another element to the presentation. Its slim construction allows the action to be varied from gentle vibrations to stronger twitches that make the lure dart more widely from side to side.

Lucky John 3D Makora Split Tail in the 101 mm (4 in) size is supplied in packs of 6. The colour can be matched to water clarity, light conditions and the appearance of the natural baitfish present in the venue.

Lucky John

Lucky John is best known for its wide range of spinning lures designed for perch, zander, pike, trout and other predatory fish. The range includes soft lures, wobblers, inline spinners and spoons that can be matched to different venues, fishing depths and retrieval styles.

Soft lures make up the largest part of the Lucky John range. It includes classic paddle-tail lures, slim profiles for jigging, curly-tail grubs, fork-tail lures, worms and imitations of creatures living close to the bottom. Series such as Tioga, Joco Shaker, S-Shad Tail, Makora, Kubira and Hogy Hog allow anglers to select the right action and size for rivers, lakes and reservoirs.

Lucky John wobblers include small models for trout, chub and perch, as well as larger lures designed for pike and zander. Depending on their construction, they can be retrieved steadily, worked with sharp twitches or used to explore deeper parts of the water column.

The range is complemented by inline spinners and spoons suitable for fishing in current, still waters and trout fisheries. Different sizes and profiles make it possible to choose a lure for slow presentations as well as faster searching retrieves.

Lucky John also offers a limited selection of spinning rods, which form a small addition to the brand’s extensive lure range.

The Lucky John range includes lures for light perch and trout fishing, classic jigging for zander and more powerful spinning for pike. When choosing a lure, it is worth considering the fishing depth, retrieval speed, size of the natural prey and current activity of the fish.
