Lucky John Shad Craft is a range of floating crankbaits designed primarily for perch and pike fishing in lakes, backwaters, canals and other stillwaters. The flat-sided body resembles a small baitfish and produces a pronounced side-to-side action, helping the lure create a clear visual and vibration signal in the water.
The range includes two sizes with different weights and running depths. The smaller Shad Craft 5F measures 50 mm (2 in), weighs 5 g and dives to approximately 0.6 m. It is well suited to shallow bays, vegetation edges, near-bank shelves and areas where perch feed on small fry.
The larger Shad Craft 7F measures 70 mm (2.8 in), weighs 11 g and reaches a maximum running depth of about 1 m. Its larger profile is better suited to pike, while remaining attractive to bigger perch. It can be fished above submerged vegetation, alongside reed beds and across shallow flats bordering deeper water.

Shad Craft can be retrieved steadily, worked with regular changes of speed or presented with short bursts followed by pauses. A slower retrieve keeps the lure in a small productive area for longer, while a faster pace makes it easier to search broad, shallow stretches of water.
The flat sides increase the lure’s visibility during the retrieve and reflect light whenever the body changes direction. This is particularly useful in shallow areas, where predators often react to the distinct movement and flashing profile of a small baitfish.
Lucky John Shad Craft is available in several colour patterns. Natural finishes are a good choice for clear water and bright conditions, while more contrasting options may stand out better in lightly coloured water, overcast weather or around dense vegetation.
