Lucky John Vanrex Twitching Special is a series of short spinning rods developed for actively working hard lures. Their 1.98 m length and Extra Fast action help deliver sharp, controlled movements while maintaining direct contact with the lure.
The rods are particularly well suited to twitching, where minnows and other hard lures are animated with short pulls and pauses. The fast blank makes it easier to control the strength and length of each movement, impart a responsive action to the lure and react quickly to a strike.
The compact length is practical when fishing from a boat, platform or bank, especially where unrestricted rod movement is important. It also makes it easier to work the lure with the rod tip held low and perform repeated short movements during an active session.
The series includes three versions with different casting weights and power ratings. This allows the rod to be matched to the size and resistance of the lure as well as the species being targeted.

Vanrex Twitching Special 21 has a casting weight of 5–21 g and a Medium-Light power rating. It is the lightest model in the range and is suited to smaller hard lures used for perch, trout and other predators that call for a lighter setup.
Vanrex Twitching Special 28 covers 7–28 g and has Medium power. It is the most versatile option in the series, suitable for medium-sized hard lures and for targeting perch, zander and pike.
Vanrex Twitching Special 42 offers a casting weight of 10–42 g and Medium-Heavy power. It is designed for larger or higher-resistance lures when additional strength is required during the retrieve, hook-set and fight.
All models feature a two-piece construction and a transport length of 104 cm. Depending on the version, their weight ranges from 106 to 120 g, keeping the rods manageable during long sessions of active lure fishing.
Lucky John Vanrex Twitching Special includes the following models: 1.98 m / 5–21 g / ML / 106 g, 1.98 m / 7–28 g / M / 114 g and 1.98 m / 10–42 g / MH / 120 g. All versions have an Extra Fast action, two-piece construction and a transport length of 104 cm.

Lucky John is best known for its wide range of spinning lures designed for perch, zander, pike, trout and other predatory fish. The range includes soft lures, wobblers, inline spinners and spoons that can be matched to different venues, fishing depths and retrieval styles.
Soft lures make up the largest part of the Lucky John range. It includes classic paddle-tail lures, slim profiles for jigging, curly-tail grubs, fork-tail lures, worms and imitations of creatures living close to the bottom. Series such as Tioga, Joco Shaker, S-Shad Tail, Makora, Kubira and Hogy Hog allow anglers to select the right action and size for rivers, lakes and reservoirs.
Lucky John wobblers include small models for trout, chub and perch, as well as larger lures designed for pike and zander. Depending on their construction, they can be retrieved steadily, worked with sharp twitches or used to explore deeper parts of the water column.
The range is complemented by inline spinners and spoons suitable for fishing in current, still waters and trout fisheries. Different sizes and profiles make it possible to choose a lure for slow presentations as well as faster searching retrieves.
Lucky John also offers a limited selection of spinning rods, which form a small addition to the brand’s extensive lure range.
