Mepps Aglia Micropigments is an inline spinner based on the classic Aglia action, but with a more visible blade finish. Fluorescent tonal transitions and sparkling micropigments create many short flashes during rotation, helping the lure stand out in low light, coloured water and deeper holding spots.

Use beyond salmonid fishing
Although the series has a clear trout and sea-trout character, larger sizes can also work well for pike holding deeper in lakes and zander in reservoir pools. Smaller models are readily taken by perch, especially when a compact but highly visible spinner is needed. It is also a good choice for coloured stocked waters with rainbow trout.
Rainbo Trout and Brown Trout
Rainbo Trout is built on a silver blade and suits situations where fish react to a cooler, brighter flash. Brown Trout uses a gold blade, making it useful in warmer light, slightly stained water and venues where trout, sea trout or pike respond better to a warmer reflection.
Sizes and retrieve style
The series covers sizes from #0 to #5, so it can be matched to light trout spinning as well as stronger fishing for sea trout, salmon, pike or zander. Most of the time it is best retrieved steadily, with good line tension, allowing the blade to work evenly. In current it performs well on a cross-current retrieve, while in still water it can be fished more slowly over drop-offs, pools and deeper flats.

How to choose a Mepps lure for different fish
For perch, trout, chub and ide, smaller Mepps spinners in sizes #00 to #2 are usually the most useful. For general river and lake spinning, sizes #2 and #3 are very versatile and can cover perch, trout, chub, ide, smaller pike and zander. Choosing Mepps colours for fishing conditions
