Savage Gear SGS2 Topwater rods are designed for active saltwater fishing with topwater and soft lures. Their shorter butts and fast-action blanks make it easier to control the lure and perform dynamic movements required for techniques such as walk-the-dog.
The fast blank action provides good feedback from the lure and allows quick reactions to bites. These rods are suitable both for working surface lures and for giving soft lures a sharp, darting action. Savage Gear specifically highlights sea bass fishing as one of their intended applications.
SGS2 Topwater rods are built from Toray high-modulus carbon fibre and equipped with a SeaGuide Gold Label reel seat, SeaGuide Gunsmoke SW guides and CCS guide setting. Tough EVA handles provide a secure grip during active lure fishing.
