Lucky John Deep John is a series of floating, deep-diving lures designed primarily for zander fishing. Their fast-diving construction helps the lure reach deeper water efficiently and cover areas where predators hold along drop-offs, channels and submerged structure.
Deep John is well suited to working along deeper edges, the slopes of underwater humps and areas just above the bottom where zander often feed. It can be fished with a steady retrieve, changes of speed or short pauses, allowing the presentation to be adjusted to the activity level of the fish.
The floating construction causes the lure to rise when the retrieve is stopped. This makes it easier to guide it over rocks, submerged branches and other obstacles. The sudden change in direction can also trigger a strike from a predator following the lure.
A chamber containing metal balls is built into the body. During the retrieve, they generate sound at different frequencies, making the lure easier for predators to detect in deep, murky or poorly lit water. The moving weight also supports longer and more stable casts.

The smaller Deep John 7F measures 7 cm / 2.8 in and weighs 6 g. Its compact profile is useful when zander are feeding on smaller baitfish or reacting cautiously to larger lures. It can also be used for perch and other predators holding in deeper water.
The larger Deep John 9F measures 9 cm / 3.5 in and weighs 12 g. Its more pronounced profile and additional weight make longer casts easier and allow larger areas of water to be searched efficiently. This version is a good choice for bigger zander and predators targeting larger prey.
Lucky John Deep John can be used in lakes, reservoirs and deeper river sections. It is particularly useful where standard shallow-running lures do not reach the feeding depth and a lure that descends quickly is required.
Lucky John Deep John includes the 7F – 7 cm / 2.8 in, 6 g, floating and the 9F – 9 cm / 3.5 in, 12 g, floating. Both versions combine fast diving, an internal sound chamber and a casting system designed to improve range.

Lucky John is best known for its wide range of spinning lures designed for perch, zander, pike, trout and other predatory fish. The range includes soft lures, wobblers, inline spinners and spoons that can be matched to different venues, fishing depths and retrieval styles.
Soft lures make up the largest part of the Lucky John range.
