Headbanger Lures
Headbanger Lures

Headbanger Lures bring a Scandinavian approach to modern predator fishing. Their lures are built around a patented head design that creates an unpredictable, non-repetitive action and casts far, helping you reach active fish that have seen every standard bait before.

Why Headbanger Lures stand out

Unlike classic wobblers and soft baits that repeat the same movement, Headbanger lures constantly change their path during the retrieve. The combination of the specially shaped head and body makes the lure roll, dart and kick in different directions, imitating a wounded baitfish in panic and triggering reaction strikes from pressured predators.

  • Patented head construction for a truly unique swimming action

  • Long casting performance for bank and boat fishing

  • Models for shallow, mid-depth and deeper presentations

  • Hard and soft lures designed specifically for pike, zander and perch

From artist’s idea to patented construction

Headbanger Lures was founded in 2015 by Swedish artist and keen angler Dan Lestander. Looking for a lure that would cast long and move in a way no existing bait could, he started experimenting with different shapes and weights. Over four years he sculpted and handpainted more than fifty prototypes, testing how each version interacted with water.

The result was a unique, now patented construction that made the lure behave even more dynamically than he had imagined. This invention became the core of the Headbanger range – lures that offer a completely new type of action for predator anglers.

Which Headbanger lure for your fishing

The Headbanger family includes hard lures like the Headbanger Shad and Headbanger Tail, hybrid models such as the Spitfire, and soft baits like FireTail, BangerShad and BangerRibs. Larger profiles and slower retrieves are ideal for big pike, while smaller, tighter-running models excel for zander and perch on rivers and stillwaters.

Choose the size and running depth to match your water, then experiment with pauses, twitches and speed changes. Headbanger Lures are designed to respond instantly to every movement of the rod and line, turning even a simple retrieve into an extremely attractive presentation.

What makes Headbanger Lures different from standard predator lures?

The patented Headbanger head creates an unpredictable, non-repetitive action that triggers reaction strikes from pike, zander and perch. The lure constantly rolls, darts and changes direction, making the presentation more lifelike than typical crankbaits or soft baits.

Which species are Headbanger Lures designed for?

Most models are built for pike, zander and perch, but they also perform well on trout, chub and other freshwater predators. Larger versions are ideal for big pike, while compact models suit lighter techniques.

Which Headbanger model should I choose for shallow water?

Floating or shallow-running versions of the Headbanger Shad and Tail are ideal for bays, weedbeds and warm-season fishing. These models stay high in the water column and can be worked slowly over vegetation.

What is the best option for deeper fishing?

Sinking models, heavier soft baits and RockerHead rigging systems help reach mid-depth and deep areas. They maintain a stable action even when retrieved slowly along drop-offs and underwater structure.

Do Headbanger soft baits work on standard jig heads?

Yes, soft models like BangerShad, FireTail and BangerRibs can be used on standard jig heads, but pairing them with the Headbanger RockerHead enhances the natural, erratic movement and increases strike frequency.

Are Headbanger Lures suitable for spinning and casting?

All Headbanger models cast well, and many are optimised for long-distance bank fishing. Both spinning and baitcasting setups work effectively, depending on lure size and weight.

How should I retrieve Headbanger Lures for best results?

Use a mix of steady retrieves, short twitches, speed changes and pauses. Even minimal rod movements cause the lure to change direction instantly, often provoking following fish to strike.

Do the lures work in clear and coloured water?

Yes. Natural patterns perform well in clear water, while brighter designs stand out in low visibility. Many anglers carry several colour options to adjust quickly to changing conditions.

Are Headbanger Lures durable?

The lures are made from robust materials, feature high-quality hooks and are designed to withstand heavy predator fishing. Bodies, paint and joints handle long sessions without losing performance.
