Black Cat Shadow Cat Spin - Catfish Rods

Black Cat Shadow Cat Spin is a range of catfish rods designed for actively targeting catfish using spinning techniques, both from the bank and from a boat. These rods have been developed for retrieving large artificial lures and successfully fighting powerful fish that require sufficient power reserves and durable fishing equipment. The blanks, made from high quality Japanese carbon fibre, provide the required stiffness and resistance to heavy loads, while the progressive action allows the load to be distributed gradually along the different sections of the rod. This combination makes it easier to control lure action, achieve effective hook sets and absorb sudden runs from large catfish. Shadow Cat Spin rods combine the power required for demanding fights with the characteristics needed for comfortable handling of heavier lures. This makes them suitable for actively targeting catfish in rivers, reservoirs and other fishing venues where spinning techniques are used to catch these powerful predators.

Black Cat Shadow Cat Spin rods are designed for fishing with large soft plastic lures, hard lures, spoons and other artificial baits commonly used when spinning for catfish. The range includes models of different lengths, allowing anglers to select the most suitable rod for their fishing location and preferred technique. The shorter 2.30 m version has been developed primarily for spinning from a boat, where freedom of movement and precise lure control in confined spaces are particularly important. The longer 2.70 m model is especially useful for bank fishing, as it facilitates longer casts and makes it easier to control lures at greater distances. The rods feature LTS guides and a robust DPS 20B M1 reel seat, providing secure mounting for a powerful catfish reel. The full EVA handle ensures a comfortable grip, while the front section with X-Wrap covering improves grip security during demanding fights. The progressive blank action helps anglers maintain control over the fish, even when a large catfish makes sudden runs or attempts to reach underwater obstacles.

The Black Cat Shadow Cat Spin range includes two-piece rods measuring 2.30 m and 2.70 m in length, both featuring a casting weight of 50–200 g. The shorter model weighs 283 g and has a transport length of 125 cm, while the longer version weighs 340 g and has a transport length of 145 cm. The casting weight range allows anglers to use a variety of catfish lures, from larger hard lures and spoons to appropriately weighted soft plastic lures. The powerful, progressive action provides sufficient strength for effective hook setting and fighting large fish, while helping absorb the sudden movements of a struggling catfish. The two-piece construction makes transporting the equipment and travelling between fishing venues easier, while the included fabric rod sleeve allows for convenient storage. When selecting the appropriate model, anglers should consider their fishing location, rod length, casting weight and the weight of the lures used. Black Cat Shadow Cat Spin is an excellent choice for anglers looking for powerful catfish rods designed for active spinning, offering precise lure control, comfortable handling and the durability required for demanding fights with large catfish.
