Black Cat Shadow Cat Vertical - Catfish Rods

Black Cat Shadow Cat Vertical is a range of catfish rods designed for actively targeting catfish using vertical fishing techniques, primarily from a boat. These rods have been developed for presenting lures and fishing rigs vertically, directly beneath the boat. In this fishing technique, precise lure control, bite detection and sufficient power when fighting large fish are particularly important. The strong carbon fibre blank provides the required stiffness and strength, while the progressive action allows the load to be distributed gradually along the rod. This combination helps anglers maintain control over their fishing setup and handle powerful catfish, which are capable of sudden changes of direction and strong runs during the fight.

When vertical fishing for catfish, the rod should allow precise lure presentation at the selected depth and provide sufficient power for effective hook setting. Shadow Cat Vertical rods are suitable for fishing with soft plastic lures, jigs and other rigs designed for vertical presentation beneath the boat. The short rod design makes handling easier in confined spaces, while the powerful blank allows anglers to control heavy lures and maintain sufficient power when fighting fish. The rods feature LTS guides and a DPS 20B M1 reel seat. The EVA handle provides a comfortable grip, while the front section with X-Wrap covering offers a secure hold during demanding fights. This is particularly important when battling large catfish close to the side of the boat.

The Black Cat Shadow Cat Vertical range includes a one-piece rod measuring 1.80 m in length, with a casting weight of up to 240 g. This model weighs 283 g and features a progressive action designed to meet the demands of vertical catfish fishing. The one-piece construction provides continuous blank action, which is important when controlling the lure, setting the hook and fighting fish. The rod is also supplied with a fabric rod sleeve for convenient storage. When selecting the appropriate model, anglers should consider the rod length, casting weight and the weight of the lures and rigs used at their fishing venue. Black Cat Shadow Cat Vertical is a practical choice for anglers looking for powerful catfish rods designed for active vertical fishing, offering precise lure control and sufficient strength for demanding fights with large catfish.
