Salmo Fatso 8 cm is a compact lure combining the characteristics of a crankbait and a jerkbait, designed primarily for pike and perch fishing. Its distinctive bulky body and erratic action allow the Fatso to be worked in several different ways and adapted to the activity of predatory fish.
The Fatso can be retrieved steadily like a traditional hard lure, twitched with short rod movements or worked more aggressively like a jerkbait. Changes of speed and short pauses create sudden changes in the lure’s movement, which can be particularly effective for less active pike. The model is also suitable for trolling.
The Floating version weighs 23 g and runs at approximately 0.6–1.2 m. It is a good choice for shallow bays, areas around vegetation and flats where pike hunt smaller baitfish. The Sinking version weighs 26 g and runs at approximately 1–1.7 m, allowing slightly deeper areas to be covered more effectively.
The 8 cm size is particularly useful when predators are feeding on smaller prey or when larger lures fail to produce strikes. The new generation of Salmo Fatso is fitted with sharp and durable BKK treble hooks.
Salmo Fatso 8 cm is a versatile lure for spinning for pike and perch. The ability to fish it like a crankbait, twitchbait or jerkbait, together with the choice of floating and sinking versions, makes it easy to adapt the presentation to different types of water and fishing conditions.
